I’m slowly losing confidence. Not one person, other than my friends Rachael and Danielle, has decided that my blog is worth following. Very discouraging.
And absolutely no one has commented on any of my posts. Just one little comment would be appreciated. Even a “you suck” comment would be worthwhile because at least then I wouldn’t feel bad about quitting.
However, this eerie silence from the blog community has caused insecurity.
“What’s wrong? Is there something on my face? Did I say something wrong? What? It’s my frog hat, isn’t it?”
If there’s something wrong with me, let’s just get this over and break up already. Go ahead. Tell me. I can handle it.

ReplyDeleteHere goes again - this time as a summary since I'm too lazy to write it all out again!
From what I know about blogs, is that they're more of a community. The best way to get followers is to have something to say yourself, sure. But the important part is getting your message out there. Which involves following other people's blogs and leaving comments.
For instance, when I started my blog, I made a point not to tell my family/friends. Then I can talk about them without them knowing that I'm talking about them (insert evil cackle!)
The few followers that I do have, are people that I've followed their blog for a while, and commented, and made connections with them. We've found common ground, and so I keep up with their blogs, and they keep up with mine.
Plus, tbh, if you look at statistics, many blogs don't last longer than 1-2 months. So people who do follow the blogs, generally aren't going to follow a blog that's brand new. Cause believe me, there are people that all they do all day long is go from one random blog to another. Very very few blogs are hits overnight!
Don't get discouraged because your blog doesn't have as many hits on it as Allie's Hyperbole and a Half. She's been writing on her blog for over a year ... and been a columnist on Cracked.com and some other paper that I can't remember right now. She's taken a lot of effort into getting her articles/blog out there. Give it some time!
On another note, I'm getting ready to send you something! It may be a link, I'm not sure. I have to figure it out. But expect it!
